A lot to celebrate . . .

Beautiful Gardens is celebrating its 10th year in business in 2010.  We have recently been accredited to the Trustmark Scheme and are members of the Association of Professional Landscapers and the Horticultural Trades Association.

The company is also celebrating the incorporation of commercial customers to the business. Last year saw a massive boost in commercial sales: completing an overflow car-park, installing play equipment for a local council and numerous smaller landscaping works for local businesses.

The highlight of 2009 was completing landscaping and planting plans for Darwin Hall Community Centre in Lichfield. The hall sits at the southern end of Cathedral Walk with its avenue of London plane trees.  It was vital that our scheme ‘finished off’ the avenue and so a block of native Sweet Chestnuts were incorporated into the planting scheme.  In time these will provide a massive ‘full stop’ to the avenue as well as providing welcome shade.  The scheme also sought to make a link between the neighbouring residential area and the countryside beyond: native planting was specified for much of the site with low-maintenance ‘prairie-style’ planting in raised beds and sweeping yew hedges to provide year-round structure.  Consultation with Lichfield District Council ensured the plans were passed, along with associated details such as plant specifications and irrigation plans.

As the weather is so bad and at the moment, we have decided to offer a 10% discount on all quotes given throughout January. You may not want the work doing until the Spring, but please think about getting a quote in January and we'll hold the discounted price until we've completed the work.

We are currently working in Lichfield, transforming a very sloped garden with a crumbling wall, into a terraced garden, using wooden sleeper retainers. See the recent pics taken yesterday. Hopefully should be finished to day or Monday (depends on the weather!!)
